Free Stuff - Things I've Actually Used
|
|
Ok, Here is the
scoop... There are literally tons of so called "free
stuff" out there on the internet. Some of it is useful,
some of it isn't. As a search term "free" is very
popular so I decided to create a free stuff page that only
included free stuff that "I" personally found useful.
(no guarantee you will, but hey, different strokes for different
folks) So here is my free stuff list... enjoy - J.T.

| Stretching Tips,
free 6 part e-course - I found this free stretching e-course
to be very informative, since I didn't really know much about
proper stretching techniques. Here's a quick breakdown of each
part:
Part 1 - How much pain should you
feel during stretching?, Part 2 - Breathing techniques while
stretching, Part 3 - Should I stretch before or after exercise?,
Part 4 - Warm Up, Part 5 - Stretching major muscles and their
opposing muscle groups, and Part 6 - Posture while
stretching. The also give you a free audio bonus discussing how
to safely use stretching to minimize sports injury and improve
freedom of movement.
I still don't exercise as much as
I should but at least I now know how to properly stretch when I
do. :-)

| Free Home Security
System - I used this company to get a free wireless home
security system more than a year ago. So what is the catch?
Well, the system is free but you, of course, have to pay a
monthly fee for monitoring, which at $29.95/mo. is as good or
even cheaper than most other companies.
You get 4 wireless window/door
contacts, a wireless motion detector, a siren, control panel, a
yard sign, stickers and a self-install video. I used it in my
townhouse so I didn't need any extra equipment but if you have
lots of first floor windows and doors you need covered you may
want to purchase some extra window/door contacts.
You can pay to have a
professional install your free security system, but since it is
a wireless system that doesn't require any drilling, you should
be able to do it yourself in less than an hour. I installed mine
myself using the video and it was pretty easy.

Long Distance Calculator
This was very fast and easy and saved me a lot of money last
year.
You simply input your area code, the first 3 digits of your
phone number and the minutes you actually used last month for in-state and out-of-state long distance.
(use your phone bill or guess if you don't know)
Press the "Calculate"
button and instantly a list will be generated showing you the best
rates available in your area. The results are listed from least
expensive company to most expensive company. Everyone's calling
habits are unique so a different provider will probably be on
the top of your list than the one that was on the top of my
list. This calculator compares up
to 35 different providers, including some dial-around services,
calling cards and unlimited long distance services.
I have family that live in the
same state I do (Maryland) but are still a long distance call,
so in my case, these in-state long distance calls (Intrastate)
where costing me more than my out-of-state (Interstate)
long distance calls.
I used this calculator to find a
rate of 3.45 cents a minute for out-of-state and 4.05 cents a
minute for in-state. I had never even heard of the company
that had the best rates (CogniState) but they were way cheaper
so I tried them. That was more than a year ago and I have had no
complaints or problems so I guess I would say it all worked out
pretty good.

| Free Business
Opportunity - This is the very first business opportunities
I every had success with online. That was several years ago and
I am still actively participating in this opportunity to this
day. Although it hasn't made me rich, I do receive checks every
month and it remains an important part of my overall internet
based income. (Which is more than I can say for 9 out of 10
so-called business opportunities I have invested in over the
years).
You get a free website and lots
of free support, but like everything in life, you only get out
of it the amount of time and effort your willing to put into it.
